Get Moving for Mental Health Walks

The group really enjoyed taking part in some of the 'Get Moving' Walks held in North Lincolnsire to mark World Mental Health Day and also to raise awareness of the Time to Change Campaign.

The walks were organised by Jo Dray from NHS North Lincolnshire and the 'Walking the Way to Health' team. VOICE members took part in the walk at Central Park on Tuesday 12th October and at Water's Edge, Barton on 14th October. We were lucky as the rain stayed away and although it was chilly we soon warmed up once we started walking.

We were lucky enought to have some of our canine friends join us on the walk although it was a bit too much for Mya, a 6 month old Saint Bernard puppy owned by Cathy one of our members

Here she is before the walk

Mya keen and ready to go for a long walk

and afterwards lol

Time for a rest after a long walk

Mya needed a rest after all that walking and decided to have a nap in the carpark. You'll be pleased to know she enjoyed a good sleep that afternoon!!

Here's another photo from the walk showing a beautiful Autumn scene at Waters Edge Country Part

We really enjoyed the walks and would like to thank the Walk Leaders and of course Jo at NHS North Lincolnshire for organising them!
