What is VOICE about?
What is VOICE?
VOICE is a group of local people who have all used mental health services. We meet regularly to talk about the issues which are important to us. Members of the group are involved in a wide variety of projects to help contribute service users’ views to local and national mental health services. For example the group have been involved in the design and development of Great Oaks, monitoring the standards of local services, training and recruitment and lots of other projects. We are currently part of a group looking at people's experiences of using local mental health services so we would love to hear your experiences good or bad. You can take part by phoning the project on 01724 858343 or e-mail us at voicesum@yahoo.co.uk. Over the next few months we will also be involved in the development of a new mental health strategy for our area so its a great time to join us and have your say.
We are a fairly small and friendly group, who are all passionate about improving our mental health services. We can offer people who provide those services a users perspective on what is working and where things need to be improved. We also try to support eachother and of course we don't want it all to be hard work so we hvae regular social meetings and outings.
